NAPTIME SECRETS
Written and illustrated by Grama Gogo:
(pseudonym for Ruth Silnes)
Picture book for two to seven-year-olds
In NAPTIME SECRETS, ninety- three-year-old Grama Gogo, a lifetime artist and author remembered how as a small child she would let her imagination run free when she was supposed to be napping.
The active child pictured in the book could be a boy or a girl who uses the bedclothes to initiate vivid imagery of flying over land and sea. The child uses the blanket as a tent, talks to birds who talk back, and looks at the world from outer space before falling asleep.
"I can’t explain how much my two-year-old daughter Keyena loves Naptime Secrets.
She enjoys looking at the pictures and at times I even hear her making up her own stories to go along with the pictures. She has taken that book everywhere with her everywhere. It warms my heart to see my child so excited about reading" – Ayela Whitende.
